2:42 PMWe've been having fun making our little house feel more like a home. We're not sure how long we'll be in Utah, and it may be a few more years at least, so we're trying to settle in a bit more and start enjoying life wherever we may be living. Here are some little improvements we've been making in the past few months:
The house came with this playset that we've stained and it looks 10 times better! We're going to add a swing, a ship's wheel, climbing wall, etc. We're also still in the process of staining the fence, but that's a big and slightly boring job!
We bought some beautiful tile from Home Depot and had our friend, Adam, install it with his company (adamsservices.net...a little shout out to him!). We tiled our 2 bathrooms and our kitchen. No more water damage!
We painted an accent wall on the right, a green/blue. It turned out a bit light, but it still adds a fun fresh color, and happens to match our new rug perfectly!
We finally replaced our dear (but nasty) red couches that our dog, Haley, managed to ruin during her puppyhood when she practically lived on them. From now on, we're only buying leather or microsuede!
We also installed new blinds in all the windows, replacing the broken, cheap, vertical plastic things that kept falling off.
