Tommy says a half marathon isn't a marathon, but I say they're the same in my book! We were SO proud to see him cross the finish line a few weeks ago. We woke up early and waved and cheered in our PJ's.
We're so sad to say goodbye to Malinda and James' family as they make the move to Kansas for vet school. It has been so much fun having them in Utah with us for the past 5 years. I will miss Malinda's crafty talents and our shared excitement for holidays. Sydney will be heartbroken to part with her best friend in the world, Mason. She has always been his #1 fan. I still have to explain that we can't marry our cousins when we grow up, because she tries to tell me all the time that he's her prince. ;)
Here are some pictures from a fun-filled day while we visited them in Logan a little while ago.
we played at a nearby lake to cool off
Max stayed at the safe, 1-inch-deep section
we came home to some yummy homemade pizza from James
meanwhile, we were serenaded by these two talented guys
Our first lemonade stand! With the help of Sydney's cousins, they created some tasty treats for the neighbors. I had to convince them to lower the price from two dollars per cup, but they were still happy when they each got some money at the end to spend at the store.
Quinten decided to eat his cupcakes instead of decorate them to sell
they each made some signs to hang on the table
it was a million degrees, so most of the lemonade was gulped down by these thirsty camels
they got a whopping four customers before they had enough of the hot sun. But Olivia assured me they still made "good money" :)
The best parts of summer are the carnivals that come to town. We went twice this week, and one last month in a nearby town. And hopefully we can squeeze in a couple more before the end of summer. :)
ping pong toss for a real goldfish
Sydney had a good aim! They won two and she named them "Cinda" and "Tony"
every time we'd pass this ride, Max would squeal "broom broom!"
the first half of the ride, Sydney sat forlorn because she wanted to ride in the dragon
but after a minute she was back to her smiles, because it's hard to sulk at the fair :)
the lemonade man sold pickles, and we kept having to go back for more (we're big fans in this house)
