Prayers for Avery

Our niece, Avery, has struggled with severe medical complications since her birth 6 weeks ago. The main problems have been with her heart and lungs, and she has been on heart/lung bypass machines for the majority of her short life. The medical team helping her consists of a variety of specialists, and they seem to be baffled by the situation. Avery has undergone multiple tests and surgeries, and continues to fight with her strong, sweet spirit. Today is a big day where the doctors will try to take her off the bypass machine. If she responds positively, that's a very optimistic sign. But if she doesn't respond well, the doctors are at a loss as to what to do next. Tommy and I haven't met Avery yet, but we feel such a strong connection to her. We look forward to the day when we can hold this precious little angel in our arms.
